The challenge of locating deposits of natural gas and oil deposits has been transformed in the past few decades as innovative, advanced technology is developed and put into operation. When the industry was first taking off, the sole method of locating these deposits was by surveying the surface and interpreting the data.
It was only by looking for and identifying seepages of these resources on the surface that surveyors and geologists were able to identify areas that potentially held them underground. However, due to the rarity of seepages being found in the surface, it was extremely difficult to locate deposits and made the exploration process inefficient.
With demand for fossil fuels steadily increasing around the world, the industry has invested significant resources into developing new technology to overcome the challenge of locating natural gas and oil deposits. With the advent of new technology, companies have been more easily able to locate them. We can now look beneath the surface with advanced imaging technology and determine the makeup of the ground, surveying the underground and identifying different elements and formations that indicate the presence, or absence, of resources.
Our geologists at Refined Shale Gas now have access to the most advanced technology, equipment and machinery available, allowing them to obtain both vital data and soil samples to determine what lies beneath the surface. Once we have found a promising location and established the probable presence of natural gas or oil, further tests allow us to produce accurate maps of underground formations and consistency, with these tests carried out by our expert geophysicists.
